The Rotary Club of Bombay Seacoast, organised Rtn. Deepak RAO’s popular Mind-Opening Corporate Edu-taining Session – ‘Mastering Effective Communication’ on March 11 (Thurs), at The Club, Andheri (W).
The amazing turn-out of members, guests & the media – was ample testimony to Deepak’s crowd-pulling charisma & spectacular showmanship.
Initially the hall was overcrowded with over 20 TV cameras, press photographers and journalists…. and the event has been well covered by the media and search engines.
Even after the media left, the Mahogany hall was full and many Seacoasters stood during the entire session, as the chairs were insufficient.
The 100 mins. session – a never-before allotted time slot, ran late into the night with the audience wanting more & more as he explained how poor communication is a widespread disease and can be severely damaging. The session was embedded with relevant jokes and anecdotes, which kept the audience in good humour all along.
While highlighting the attitudes and pitfalls in communication that affects us in all spheres of life…. the take home messages were profound – avoid assuming, accusing and following for hearsay information. Also, validate decisions and communication with intelligent processing, eschew bad language & irrelevant details, imbibe polite telephone manners, etc.
While Deepak emphasized that his session was nothing that people did not know already…. it was a mind-opening experience to brush up on our communication skills and a wakeup call in our total behaviour in society.
Deepak guarantees that all of you will recall the learnings and apply it in your day-to-day life. This is his special contribution to Seacoasters. Do keep him updated about your experiences and your support in spreading the word.
Ms. Amrita Rao, guest of honour, well-known & talented Bollywood film star was conferred a ‘Vocational Excellence Award’ by The Rotary Club of Bombay Seacoast by President Dr. Aban Movdawalla for her stupendous contribution to the Bollywood Film Industry.
Chief guest Rtn. Deepak RAO handed over the award to Amrita.
